Tulips are my favourite flower. Maybe because they’re the national flower of my grandparent’s home country, The Netherlands, or maybe because I use to love going to my old hometown of Canberra’s annual Floriade flower show? Where there’d always be thousands of tulips on display and to picnic near. Or… maybe it’s simply because I love their bold colours and shape? A shape… which is perfectly suited for pockets…

Tulip pockets! For this ‘pockets in dresses’ obsessed lady I don’t think there is anything more perfect! The dress is a 1960s ‘Swirl’ wrap and it’s safe to say I’m a little bit smitten with it. Ralphie is too because she thought I had something in my pocket for her!

Wearing this dress has seen me become a little bit obsessed with tulips and here a few more I’ve been loving lately too…
I’m pretty sure my vintage nightwear collection could do with the addition of this 1960s beauty. Not only do I love the tulip detail on the bodice but the silhouette print on the robe is gorgeous.

As for this matching 1970s shirt dress and cardigan combination… yes please!

And this picture… well I think it sums up perfectly how I feel about tulips.

How about you? Do you love tulips too?

ahhh I adore you in this outfit (tights and shoes included) and I adore that dress even more, I so love two toned dresses. You look great!
Aw, thank you so much Zohar!
xoxo
Super adorable!!!!!!!!!
Thanks Jess! xo
I absolutely adore that super gorgeous Swirl dress – the pocket is exquisite! I’ve only seen 40s and early 50s Swirls – I didm’t realise they were still making them into the 60s!

Thanks Sarah!
Yep, Swirls were being made right into the 80s. I have a couple of 60s ones that I wear and love, plus a 50s which is in the store at the moment.
that skirt and you are absolutely adorable! i love tulips, also, but am really bad with plants so I never buy any.
By the way, I’m in love with the shirtdress and cardigan combo. in LOVE!
Thanks so much Anna! I’m the same when it comes to plants… love to look at them but completely hopeless at growing them. :)
Agh, I LOVE this dress–and love it on you! So cute. Red swiss dot + chambray blue = perfection. And that 1970s tulip print dress and cardi combo is just amazing.
I have to admit, I don’t have strong feelings about tulips one way or another. Many Dutch people settled in the area of western Michigan where I live…so much so that there is a town called Holland nearby, and every year they have a big tulip festival. I’ve never been, but maybe I should check it out.
Thanks so much Karen!
If you ever go to the tulip festival I’d love to see photos. :)
Gorgeous tulip pocket, your outfit looks great
Thanks Erica :)
You are too cute! And that dress is adorable on you!
I must admit I’m not a fan of the tulip, mainly because they never seem to last long as cut flowers in a vase, but they do look sweet as a print or as pockets!
Aw, thanks Emily!
I hope the planning for the big move back to AU is going well.
