Growing up, I always loved reading the horoscopes in my mother’s copy of ‘The Australian Women’s Weekly’ (AWW). Horoscopes always provided a bit of fun, mystique and sometimes… even a little insight into the possible love match of my latest celebrity crush. Which at the time, varied from Corey Haim, Simon Baker and Donnie from ‘New Kids on the Block’ (am I showing my age?!).

While I outgrew reading horoscopes when I outgrew reading my favourite teenage magazine, Dolly, I do still sometimes take a peek and I thought I’d share these ‘Beautyscopes’ from a 1976 Beauty Book, published by AWW. After all… we all like to know how the stars affect our looks! ;)

I think I feel a little chastised by my scope… I’m told I could have very attractive nails however “… Scorpio being what it is, you probably don’t take all that much interest in your hands.” As a Scorpio I also need to “exercise a little more care than usual with my skin” and when it comes to exercise “it is totally pointless for you to exercise haphazardly, stop, and then start again.” Well… yes. Fair point!

I think my favourite part of the Scorpio beautyscope is “Most Scorpios look better with short hair.” At least I’m doing something right!

How about you? How does your 1970s ‘Beautyscope’ fair?
