This week’s guest post is by one of my favourite crafty and vintage loving ladies, Jess of Epheriell Designs. Jess is a full-time creative — both the hands that make Epheriell and the editor and publisher of *bespoke* zine. On top of all this, Jess has an obsession with vintage dresses and I’m delighted to share her favourite ‘between season’ outfit with you all!
Hello lovely readers, it’s Jess from Epheriell Designs here. Today I’m popping by the blog to share one of my favourite between-season — or, in this particular case, between-cities — outfits.
Recently I flew from Brisbane to Canberra. Now, Brisbane in October is warming up, with days commonly in the 25-30 degrees range. However, lovely Canberra is still super-cold at this time of year, so I had to pick an outfit that would take me from one city to the other in comfort!
I decided that layering was the way to go, so with the addition of some cute tights + a jacket (plus a layer under my dress to hold the heat in) this gorgeous 70s summer dress was able to make the transition across climates.
I’m a huge fan of cropped jackets for Spring and Autumn – they aren’t too bulky, but they keep the wind out. The same goes for heavy denier tights like these.
I also tried out a new hairstyle, which had the benefit of being cool in Brissie, and quick to take out if I needed to employ my hair-scarf at the other end of the trip.
I’d love to know what your favourite tricks are for dressing between seasons — do you have a favourite wardrobe piece that comes out at that time of year?
Jacket (bought online) + dress (bought at Retrostar Melbourne) + belt (bought in an op shop in Cornwall) are vintage. Tights are from Marks & Spencer. Shoes Target. Jewellery by Epheriell. Images courtesy of Jess.
